Over the past 25 years, Kuusamo Log Houses has delivered thousands of log houses, log cabins and other log buildings, all of which share a sense of individuality, quality and the use of northern timber.

Every log building has its own story. Builders’ life situations and needs vary greatly, as do plots of land, construction budgets and preferences – that is why we adapt our log house and log cabin models to suit your wishes.

Customised log buildings can be created by adapting our standard models. Our range includes over 80 log house packages, some of which are also available as ready-made variants. We can also design a completely bespoke log house based on your own plans or architectural designs.

The individuality and adaptability of Kuusamo Log Houses are truly in a class of their own, as no two log houses have ever been built exactly alike over the years.

It is possible to make changes to Kuusamo Log Houses’ models in virtually every respect. The log houses we supply are adapted to suit the residents’ needs, the layout of the grounds and the prevailing wind directions. When customising house and cabin designs, it is possible, for example, to increase the floor area, enlarge the windows, move the position of partition walls, or alter the room layout or roof shapes.

The same house or holiday home model can therefore be realised on your own plot either as a very traditional log building or, by utilising various solutions, as a modern one. A traditional model can be transformed into a modern log building, for example, by replacing the pitched roof with a pent roof. The individuality of the exterior can also be influenced by using a more modern log profile. The dimensions of the finished model can be altered almost endlessly – just as the size of the windows and doors is fully customisable.

One prime example is Kuusamo Log Houses’ popular Nuuna model, which has taken on many forms over the years. Nuuna models have been adapted into everything from compact lakeside cottages to two-storey townhouses.

A suitable house model was sought for a wedge-shaped urban plot, and the fan-shaped Kuusamo Log Houses Nuuna 205T caught the family’s eye. The versatile Nuuna was adapted to meet the needs of this active family.

With the help of a Kuusamo Representative, the Nuuna was customised into a unique dream home. As the room layout and the location of the main entrance changed, the exterior design also underwent a transformation.

1. Unlike the original model, the entire front wall of the house was brought to the same level. This increased the floor area to 212 square metres, giving the family the extra space they needed.
2. The location of the entrance was changed.
3. A walk-in wardrobe was added next to the main entrance, providing space to store outdoor clothing for all seasons.
4. The kitchen windows were replaced with a large sliding door.
5. The layout of the rooms was altered and a large exercise room was added to the house.
6. Almost all the windows were replaced with larger ones than the originals.
7. The first bedroom was converted into a sauna.
