The Oivanki Youth and Nature Tourism Centre, located in Kuusamo, offers services for children, young people, families and businesses. The magnificent Joutsen building, supplied by Kuusamo Log Houses, meets the needs of both the centre and its customers. Oivanki needed versatile spaces suitable for use by young people and customers. Following a tender process, Kuusamo Log Houses was selected as the supplier, and the completed log building features two large saunas with changing and shower facilities, as well as a fireplace room.
– Why log? In my experience, Finnish timber is a particularly popular material. It is breathable and pleasant. The ceiling is high and the space feels open. There is light and room to breathe here, Päivärinta describes.
Enthusiastic visitors
The Oivangi Youth and Nature Tourism Centre welcomes children and young people, as well as families, companies and organisations. Päivärinta explains that they meet nearly three thousand young people a year, plus other age groups on top of that. A very large proportion of customers therefore get to enjoy the Kuusamo Log Houses building.
– Clients have loved it, and this space is very popular, even though we have other great facilities too. For example, international guests have been absolutely delighted with the quality of the space, Päivärinta praises.
