The whole thing is absolutely just our style

A couple of years ago, Venla and Juuso from Turku found themselves dreaming of their own home – one that was bigger than their current one. When they couldn’t find a property on the market that suited them both, the idea gradually shifted from buying an off-the-shelf property to building their own home. After careful research and a few strokes of luck, they chose a house from Kuusamo Log Houses’ Nuuna models as their future home.

Above all, the couple wanted their new home to be durable, beautiful and have air quality that was good to breathe. A log house as a way of living fulfilled their wishes perfectly.

– Clean indoor air was important to both of us. Durability, and the knowledge that we could avoid mould problems with this solution, also influenced our decision. The surface of the logs is also incredibly beautiful and creates a cosy atmosphere in the home, which is why we left as much of the log surface exposed as possible, says Venla.

The shape of the Nuuna house was the deciding factor

The unusually shaped plot initially posed challenges for the couple. The fan-shaped Nuuna model from Kuusamo Log Houses’ range solved this problem perfectly. Once a suitable house model and supplier had been found, it was time to refine the plan to suit our own tastes.

– We made a lot of changes to the floor plan and were able to make the house look exactly like us. We spent many hours poring over the plans with a representative from Kuusamo Log Houses, because we always had something new to add to it, Venla smiles.

– I can’t think of a single thing we couldn’t have changed if we’d wanted to, adds Juuso.

A house fit for a boss

The couple are full of gratitude towards everyone who helped create a home where they will continue to feel at home for years to come.

– A big thank you to everyone who made this possible, both the construction team and Kuusamo Log Houses. We discussed with their Kuusamo Representative that we would build a top-of-the-range Nuuna, and that’s exactly what we’ve done, Juuso smiles.
