Victoria and Kim Allanson live in Porvoo in a new detached house. In addition to the beautiful and compact log house, the plot also features a separate outbuilding. The couple are very happy in their new home – Kuusamo Log Houses managed to fulfil all their wishes.
Victoria and Kim Allanson had their new home built on a plot that once belonged to Victoria’s grandfather.
– There used to be an old 1960s house on this plot, but it was so mouldy that we had to demolish it completely, Victoria recalls.
The couple had their own plan
Victoria and Kim designed and drew up the preliminary plans for their future home themselves. As the plot had no further building rights, they decided to build a compact detached house on it, as well as a separate, habitable outbuilding where, for example, Kim’s parents, who are originally from Australia, could stay whenever they visited.
– They’ll have their own space where they can be completely at peace, Victoria says happily.
– We had a plan for the kind of home we wanted. We contacted a few different house builders, showed them our own drawings and asked what they could offer us, Kim explains.
Expert and approachable service

Kuusamo Log Houses won over Victoria and Kim, particularly with its approachable customer service and straightforward attitude. The couple felt that Kuusamo Log Houses genuinely wanted to fulfil their wishes.
– When we showed them the drawings, they were immediately able to tell us what would work and what wouldn’t, Kim says gratefully.
– The fact that we were able to realise our own idea was definitely the main reason we chose Kuusamo Log Houses. I feel that this, our first house, was pretty much perfect right from the start. We got everything we wanted, Victoria smiles.
