Log Apartment Building Kuusamo

A new and interesting landmark has risen in the centre of Kuusamo: the town’s first log apartment building. The building is an excellent example of modern log construction, where a traditional building material meets contemporary urban architecture.

Main-contracted by Tunturirakennus Oy and built using Kuusamo Log Houses’ non-settling laminated logs, the apartment building has four residential floors and a floor area of over 2,000 square metres. The building was constructed with a log-concrete composite structure. The first floor is made of concrete, while the three residential floors and attic space are built of laminated logs. The log apartment building includes 38 apartments, of which 26 are one-bedroom apartments and 12 are studios. The architectural design was carried out by Saatsi Arkkitehdit Oy.
